Dr Ana Zonta moved to Australia in 2010 from Croatia where she graduated from Medical school and finished specialist training in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery. Although still loving surgical specialty, she decided to extend her skills and become a GP to better fit her busy family life with her passion for medicine. Dr Zonta joined Mundingburra Medical Centre in January 2016. As part of her extended skills training, Dr Zonta has been working at NQMIS at the Mater Hospital on a fortnightly basis, assisting in post-operative follow up at the Melanoma clinic. In her spare time she enjoys running.

Helena graduated from medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2000. She commenced her internship and subsequent residency at the Townsville General Hospital in 2001. After commencing training with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners she attained her Fellowship in 2006. Helena has an interest in all aspects of general practice in particular paediatrics, older persons health and women's health. Outside of work hours Helena enjoys spending time with her family and learning to play the cello.

Dr Meeta Hira has been working as a General Practitioner in Australia now for 15 years. Over the years she has gained wide experience in various fields of General Practice; specifically women’s, adolescent and children’s health. Dr Hira has obtained her Graduate Certificate from Monash University in Women’s Health and trained with Family Planning QLD to perform Mirena insertions. Her other interests include occupational medicals, rehabilitation for workplace injuries and mental health.

Dr Christine Mitchell trained in Adelaide University, graduating in 1999. She then worked in Adelaide in Paediatrics General Medicine. After travelling around Australia she moved to Townsville in 2002. She completed her Fellowship in General Practice training in 2007 and has worked at Mundingburra Medical Centre since 2007. Dr Mitchell has a special interest in cancer, and also works in medical oncology at The Townsville Hospital. Her other interests include all aspects of family medicine from antenatal care to end of life.

Dr Yamesha has joined our team for the year. Dr Yamesha is interested in all areas of General Practice and is now taking appointments from Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5:30pm.
In her spare time, Dr Yamesha loves spending time outdoors and exploring new places.
Rebecca is a North Qld local, having completed her medical degree at JCU in 2008.
Rebecca primarily practices Lifestyle Medicine, and is an internationally Board Certified Lifestyle Medicine physician. Lifestyle Medicine is a holistic approach to the prevention and reversal of illnesses, through addressing factors such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management and reduction of harmful substances. Lifestyle Medicine aims to treat the root cause of disease for both physical and mental health. Rebecca enjoys working with individuals motivated to make lifestyle changes to reach their health goals. She performs a similar role each week at Townsville University Hospital for patients who are awaiting orthopaedic surgery.
Rebecca is also an accredited provider of Focussed Psychological Solutions, and can provide specific mental health care treatments. Individuals with an active Mental Health Care Plan can access therapy services with Rebecca, often with a Lifestyle Medicine focus.
